Material Type

Setup > Inventory > Material Type



Define all the Material Grades.
When adding Items to a quote, you can select the material grade that the items is going to be made of. The list of materials will be defined in this list.

New Material




Material: The Material Grade
Description: Description for the material, The description will replace the material grade when displayed in a quote or order.
Group: The Material Group that the material belong to.
Group Code: A Group Tag that can me associated with the material.
Product Type: Product types that the material can be assigned to.
Density: The density of the material, this is used to calculate the weight of items if no product is assigned to the item.
Remark: A remark or comment.

Add Cost: Every material has a cost associated to it. The Add Cost option allows you to create the material and create a cost entry at the same time. If you do not want to add the cost uncheck the check box next to the Add Cost label
Cost: The material cost
Units: The weight units of the material cost.

Add Thickness Map: A List of thickness associated with the material grade. A Thickness list will be associated if the material is use for sheets or plate, if not then uncheck the check box next to the Add Thickness Map label.
Thickness Grid: Add or remove the thicknesses that you want to associate with the material grade. You can always change the thicknesses mapped to the material grade.
